The Difference Between Cast Acrylic Sheet And Extruded Acrylic Sheet.

The extruded sheet is made of acrylic pellets, added to the hopper of the screw extruder, melted and plasticized in the extruder, extruded by the die, calendered, and coated to obtain an acrylic sheet.Process: Molten acrylic material – screw extruder – die – calendering – film – cutting – packaging.

The cast plate is made of MMA as raw material, heated by polymerization under the action of initiator, and cooled to normal temperature when the conversion rate reaches 10%. After degassing, it is poured into a template made of inorganic glass and heated by water bath and drying room. After the material is completely polymerized and then released, the acrylic sheet is coated and finished into a finished product. The template that leaves is regrouped and recycled.

Acrylic cast sheets have high molecular weight, excellent stiffness, strength and excellent chemical resistance. This sheet is characterized by small batch processing, unmatched flexibility in color system and surface texture effects, and a full range of specifications for a variety of special applications. However, since the production of such a plate is cast molding, a cooling process is encountered in the production process, a large amount of industrial waste water is generated, which causes damage to the environment, and since the series of plate production processes are added with recycled components, production is performed. The quality of the plates produced is not guaranteed, and the plates of this series have been banned from production abroad.

Acrylic extruded sheets Compared to cast sheets, extruded sheets have lower molecular weight and slightly weaker mechanical properties. However, this feature is advantageous for bending and thermoforming processing, and is advantageous for rapid plastic vacuum forming when processing large-sized sheets. At the same time, the thickness tolerance of the extruded sheet is smaller than that of the cast sheet. Applicable to medium and high-grade places, because the extrusion plate is mass-produced and the color is inconvenient to adjust, the product is limited by certain colors. However, high-volume production can reduce the production of finished products, and has great advantages in production size specifications. It can be cut directly according to production requirements, and there is no waste of scrap.
