Acrylic sheet is made of methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA), that is, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheet organic glass. Acrylic sheet processed by special technology has the reputation of "plastic queen".
The physical properties of acrylic determine that it is the only choice for transparent swimming pool materials. It has the following advantages：
1.All the advantages of glass
Acrylic is a high molecular polymer that has all the advantages of glass and can replace glass; however, the main component of glass is silicon dioxide, which cannot replace acrylic.
The only disadvantage is that acrylic is more expensive than glass.
2.Better visual effects
Acrylic has high light transmittance, with a light transmittance of up to 92% and above, while glass has a light transmittance of 82%-89%, and the best ultra-clear glass can only reach 89%.
Acrylic has a soft light transmittance and a more gorgeous visual effect.
3.Safe and secure
Acrylic's impact resistance is more than 100 times that of ordinary glass and 16 times that of tempered glass (tempered glass has the risk of self-explosion).
The maximum thickness of common tempered glass does not exceed 20mm, while the thickness of acrylic can reach more than 800mm.
Acrylic can withstand heavier and greater impact forces, while tempered glass cannot.
4.Seamless splicing
Acrylic has good processing properties and can be machined and thermoformed. More importantly, acrylic thick plates can be seamlessly spliced on site by injecting a special formula of stock solution.
However, tempered glass cannot be reprocessed, cut or spliced.
